Fall Weiss II Question

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Fall Weiss II Question

Post by magic87966 »

When does the script for the reduction of Axis MPP's if they have not captured oil fields fire? Thanks.

January 1, 1943.

It's variable at 20% chance per turn (same frequency that Malta effects Tobruk).

Thanks for the reply. Is this event contingent on the Soviets being a certain distance from Ploesti or is it indicative of the German economy having trouble keeping up with the overall war effort?

The Oil shortages will occur if the Axis do not secure the Caucasus oil fields. To keep these events rather straight forward I have used the alignment of Grozny (City) and Baku (City + Oil field) as the trigger. If Germany does not hold all 3 locations then they will suffer oil shortages.

Ploesti holds significance on it's own as it is worth 50 MPP (highest of any location on the map) and in range of Strategic Bombers (longer range then vanilla) operating from Crimea and Turkey (if they join the Allies).

Iraqi or Saudi oil doesn't count?

Logistically I'm not sure if Iraqi oil would truly benefit Germany the same as the Caucasus oilfield would. But the MPP would certainly have an offsetting effect in game.

Maybe it could but be contingent to Turkey being axis leaning (ie letting the oil through their rail network)? [:)]

The problems I foresee are that I could me over complicating the desired event (too many variables), but more importantly by presenting Iraq as a viable option I will be drifting away from the Soviet resources matter theme that I am advocating for.
