I was so focused on my attacks that I forgot to move some of my reinforcements forward. Oh well...

I get a back to back turn. Not sure I can use it to the fullest advantage, but it should be fun.

You got right into them there. Shame you had a div in reorg or you could have had them back on the beaches.
RE: Operation Overlord - this time as the Germans
Agreed, it would have been so nice to waltz into them with the 12th SS along for the ride. Oh well, the best laid plans...
Have a good day,

Interesting that the AI is not using it's naval bombardment against you. Elmer is not always quick on his feet, but he normally never hesitates to bombard...
Glad you are enjoying the battle - I certainly am enjoying your reports.

Nicholas,
I'm glad that you are enjoying the reports. The AI is using the navy, but they are using them to take out my coastal artillery, which is a waste. The Allied artillery is fearsome at times.

Here is the situation in front of Caen. I have thought about this most of the day - trying to decide if to pull back or continue to push. In the end, the current weakness of the Allied forces in front of Caen says that I should attack for one more turn.
Hopefully, this will be a good decision.

RE: Operation Overlord - this time as the Germans
@Mike: can I try to lend a hand? I'm thinking that if I were in that situation that I'd
probably want to retreat inland far enough to be out of the range of the Allied ships.
That's almost a given. But then where to hold them becomes problematic but I'm thinking
that I would try to use the terrain to my advantage unless you'd rather keep his landing
grounds under your arty umbrella to pound the Allied arty and landing troops. On the
other hand the Allied supply sources are there on the coast and if you were considerably
further south his supply net might not be able to give all his units sufficient supply
to fight effectively. You can't run away from his aerial armada but you can cover the
more important locations and units with AA if you have any. As the Allied player in
this scenario I like to target the HQ's and arty units with bombers and the tanks and
mechanized units with P-47's. They have a high anti-armor value you see. It might
make sense for the rear area units to try to combine into stacks to pool their AA
values to make them safer from aerial strikes but not to the extent that the stack
turns yellow or red. It's got to stay dark green to be most effective. The Allied
player might want to drop bridges over important intersections or rail lines, wait
your enemy is the PO, right? So no worries about your bridges. I've never seen
Elmer drop an enemy bridge from the air.
I can ramble like this for whole minutes at a time. Sorry for hijacking your thread.

His is going to be the most world-wide anticipated obituary in the history of the world, that I will tell you. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
