ASW patrol: point to improve

Post by RouquinMalin »

Hi,
Point to improve in my opinion in CMANO: setting up an ASW patrol (consisting for example of P-3 Orion) located for example 500 nm from the air base, when an enemy GOBLIN is identified, each patrol aircraft attacks the target , normal (although I think it would be useful to be able to parameterize the attack like the x closest planes attack, the others continue the patrol - hurry the next update) but what is less it is when the plane is at 100 nm or even just got off the ground 100 nm and 500 nm to 1000 ft (= high fuel consumption and wasted time) ...

No. I'm waiting the official update not the public beta...
The 1.14 update would be the solution (avoid flying on xxx nm to 1000ft because i did not read it on the release notes but my english is poor, sorry i'm french...)?

In 1.14 notes

"ADDED: The mission editor can now define how many aircraft in a patrol will investigate & engage contacts, as well as wingmen behavior: upfiles/20643/F6D002F08DD14B38A668B8DF7EF176B3.jpg
This helps the AI to deal more intelligently with probes, feints, decoy attacks etc., and avoid over-allocating assets on a few targets at the expense of others. "

That was a huge improvement BTW

It's a great feature.
But, is it a random unit that engages a target ?
Just had a ship going to investigate an unknown target, wich was about 100nm away. 3 other ships where at 30nm from the target but they just kept patroling.
i'm very new to this game so maybe i'm missing something ?

Hi,

In the editor of your ASW Patrol mission, in the section "Aircraft Speed and Altitude":

What happens if you leave all the default settings and put 5nm in "Attack Dist":

"Transit throttle" : "Cruise"
"Throttle Station" : "Loiter"
"Attack throttle" : "Not specified"

"Transit Altitude" : "Not specified"
"Station Altitude" : "Not specified"
"Attack Altitude" : "Not specified"

The setting "Attack Dist" = "5" nm

Salut,

Dans l'éditeur de ta mission Patrouille ASW, dans la section "Aircraft Speed and Altitude":

Que se passe-t-il si tu laisses tous les paramètres par défaut et mets 5nm dans "Attack Dist":

"Transit throttle" : "Cruise"
"Throttle Station" : "Loiter"
"Attack throttle" : "Not specified"

"Transit Altitude" : "Not specified"
"Station Altitude" : "Not specified"
"Attack Altitude" : "Not specified"

The setting "Attack Dist" = "5" nm

"Not specified" = zéro
