Anyone know this book???

Post by panda124c »

I am looking for the title/author of a book I read some time ago, it is written by a P-39 (and later P-47) Pilot stationed in New Guinea. I seem to remember that the name was the Pilot's girlfriend/wife's name, the same as his aircraft. Any help would be appreciated. This seemed like the best forum to post this on. Thanks.

'Nanette', by Edward Park. Not sure it is still in print though.
While the battles the British fight may differ in the widest possible ways, they invariably have two common characteristics – they are always fought uphill and always at the junction of two or more map sheets.

Thank you gentemen, I have ordered the book. Another book on an obscure corner of WWII.
I have just finished reading "U.S.S Frustrate" "The luckiest Ship in the Navy" The true story of o Mahon Class Destroyer before, during and after World War II. By E.B. Dennis. The ship's real name was U.S.S. Flusser, DD368. Reads much like Pacific War Diary. I picked it up on a visit to the U.S.S. Kidd, DD661, in Baton Rouge, LA.
