US Radio Callsigns

Post by Tailhook »

Just a handy link I found I think some scenario designers might like.

https://henney.com/chm/callsign.htm

A pretty thorough (although I imagine incomplete) list of radio callsigns that people could use for Aircraft squadrons to increase immersion a little bit. Now instead of "Tomcatters 3, Tomcatters 4, etc..." you could have them be "Felix 3, Felix 4, etc..."

Not sure if people care about this stuff but I think it's a nice touch.

Tailhook,

Excellent list. Thank you very much for providing it.

They give HMH-466's callsign as "Wolfpack," that's their nickname. Actual (non-tactical) radio call is "Romulus" (tactical call sign is assigned randomly by the Air Combat Component command staff). I was a plank owner in that squadron.

Fantastic

Thanks Tailhook, some of this may find itself in more than just scenarios...

Wish it was searchable but great just the same.

Great reference Tailhook! Many thanks!!

To Bart: You can search it using CTRL + F.
Press CTRL and F and then write the words you are searching in the bar that will appear at the bottom of the screen.

That's a really useful shortcut, you can use it on every site/browser etc.
