morale unit

Post by Rodimstev »

hi all,

i have a question...

How the morale is Calculated?

In North africa, my English unit have a small morale (below 30) but they had not fight, they are on El Alamein and a HQ 10 is just behind them

so i woul understand how the morale is calculated and how improved it

Kinds regards

I dunno anything but I think morale is affected by supply amount, nearby general, casualty replacement, and fatigue from combat. I don't know about your case what is happening. Maybe there are too many flies cause they get into every bit of exposed food and prevent soldiers from sleeping peacefully.

It's affected by:
Being attached to a HQ (and if so the HQ rating).
It's strength.
It's supply amount.
Weather it was Operated or Forced Marched.
How much combat it has recently seen.
Has it rested (i.e. not moved)
Overall National Morale

Ok thanks

But what is the main paramèter ?Supply? Distance with HQ?

I would understand

In the manuel, we have not more details

Any player have done tests?

If a unit doesn't move for one turn or more, why is morale doesn't change?

In my game i have 5 units around El-Alamein, with HQ (Montgomery) all Linked to this HQ (manuel mode)

2 inf armies and 3 inf corps. They don't move and their morale is below 45......in front of them, german unit have more 90....

Thanks in advance....to explain me...

Most probably your NM (national morale) is low from losing fights or your units are sitting on low supply hexes.

The best way to fix your morale and supply is by pushing the S button and look at the supply for each hex and place your units on high number hexes like 8 to 10. That always helps me resuscitate units.

6 supply is very low like in a marsh or desert
Look for hexes that have 8 to 10 supply then move your units there.

section 7.3 of the manual should help in understanding HQ effects.

Rodimstev is it possible for you to post a screenshot? People could help you more.
I am not familiar with the Egypt area in game cause I've been playing so far as Germany not British so other players will be able to help more with your low morale situation.
