The Last Tiger

Post by fuselex »

[:)][:)][:)]
This may be the worst start ever :)
Turn 1 .
German`s fire first.
4 AFV kills by the German forces.
Turn 1- Russian defensive fire phase.
1 German AFV destroyed , ISU - 152 fires and MA malfunctions [:)]

Guess it`s going to be hard yakka after that opening round :)

Have you finally discovered that firing on the opponent when he/it cannot firing back gives the firing side an advantage?

Ça m'étonne! [:D] [:D] [:D]

I really enjoyed it .
set my forces up .
Got a flogging in the first fire phase , then decided I needed to retaliate and got a MA malfunction on the big gun :)
It was a `what the hell` first turn.
Great fun [:-][:-]

I hope so. From the Russian side, unless you get very unlucky on the first German Fire Segment, it is not too difficult.

I only lost a Sherman fire on the first turn, killed by the 251/22, then it was not too hard.
A IS-2m killed the Nashorn.
A SMG squad stunned the 251/22, which was subsequently killed by a SU-152.
I distracted the Tiger showing him the SMG squad that stunned the 251/22 and placed 2 T34/85, 1 Sherman and 1 IS-2m within 4 hexes on its side. The first 122mm hit only Shocked it, 76 and 85 mm APCR bounced off, but the second 122mm hit destroyed the beast. Since it was only turn #4, I went around killing German infantry (which was attempting to retake the VP Hex) jsut for the fun of it.

Je suis terriblement déçu , je m'attendais à un AAR sur Knock'em All Down, un scénario très difficile et tu me ponds un article sur un petit scénario écoeurant de facilité.
Allons, Voyons UP, ça m'étonne.

I'm terribly disappointed, I was expecting an AAR on Knock'em All Down, a very difficult scenario, and you're writing me an article about a smug little screenplay of ease.
Come on, let's see UP, I'm surprised.[:D]

I am sorry to disappoint you, but making a proper AAR requires taking an awful lot of notes (and this slows down playing to a snail's pace): for "Knock 'em All Down" I should have written something as massive as Les Miserables.

I am still thinking about the possibility of making video AARs like idjester (provided all of you can withstand my not-so-perfect spoken English) but so far I have been unable to find a freeware software to make such videos.

As regards to "The Last Tiger", I also played it as the Germans, and only managed to get a Minor Victory.

On the first German turn I killed three Russian tanks: a IS-2 (251/22) a Sherman (Psk) and a T-34/85 (Nashorn).
On the first Russian turn I lost the 251/22 (T/34-85) and the Nashorn (SU-152)
The Tiger I went OOC and was killed by a Sherman (what a shame!!) while its crew was wondering what to do next.
German infantry attempted (not always successfully, due to OOC) to retreat towards the VP hex, then killed the SU-152, a T-34/85 and the Tiger-killing Sherman and at the same time slowed down the advancing Russian infantry.

I finished the game with 7 VP (6 AFVs + 1 VP hex).

I think the outcome of this scenario is decided in the Fire Segment of the first turn: the more Russian AFVs the German played kills, the higher the chances of a German Victory.

30 seconds at a time? I should have to make hundreds of clips, paste them and add the voice-over.
