No worries. I don't think 1 BP will drastically affect the war effort [8D].

The Allies decline a re-roll for initiative so the Axis are going first.

The Allies are happy with the weather.

You need rain to make snow melt fast. Axis should be happy!

Mar/Apr 1941
Impulse: 1 (Axis)

Declarations of war/Alignments: None

Land: Germany, Japan
Combined: Italy

Port Strikes: None

Naval Air:
Italy

The two Z501's in La Spezia and on Sicily fly to the 4-boxes of the West Med and East Med respectively.

Naval Movement:
Italy

Supermarina orders a small task force to the 4-box of the West Med. The fleet consists of the old battleships Giulio Cesare and Conte Di Cavour plus the cruisers Duca D'Aosta and Garibaldi.

Italy initiates naval combat in the East Med. No additional air is sent and the Germans are not requested to send assistance in the form of FliegerKorps X on Sicily. The CW has a 5-factor fighter on Malta does it wish to fly? I can't see the Axis has anything more to fly with.

Yes there is a Gladiator and two Swordfish which can all fit on the two aircraft carriers there.

Right I'm out for an hour or so so could I ask Orm to cover any further questions - or I will continue when I return.

Edit: Oh looks like our posts crossed but you are already on the case [:)]

So, I’m not awere what is going on in Med. Looks like Italy sending NAV as bate, no idea why, but they must have some genius evil plan. I’m not falling on that! Let the CW ships sink if that is the cost.

So my answer is no planes to East Med.

If AllenK comes online before action continues he may use veto on this [:)]

Naval Search:

The Italian naval air has taken in a huge consignment of carrots and this appears to pay off as they spot an Allied force in the semi-darkness (throw 1) while the British distant escort for the convoy is totally oblivious (throw 7). I assume only the convoy is targeted?

Include all ships and make HMS Repulse the main target. If you get to select an abort, then put that on the CP. I would like to take this opportunity to reduce the Allied strength in the Med.

So how do you want me to spend the 8 surprise points Ormster? By maximising the 8 on increasing the losses I get 1 destroyed, 1 damaged and 1 aborted. Are you okay with this or do you want me to spend 3 points on choosing the target?

On second thoughts, that option is greyed out anyway - so I will simply increase the combat column.

There is no AA effect and the Italians get to choose the first target. They choose Repulse as per instructions.

The elderly battlecruiser is torpedoed amidships and, rocked by two internal explosions, quickly capsizes and slips below the surface (a 2 thrown).

I can't see anyone online so to save time I will assume the Allies want to take the next hit on the worst cruiser. York is targeted and also receives a torpedo - although in the bows and she manages to remain afloat.

The third target is the convoy - which is aborted.

Can peeps - starting with Orm - let me know what they want to do please?
