Version too low

Post by Rogue187 »

I dusted off my game of the edition of command and tried to update it but it says my version is too low and needs to be updated to 1.12 before I can go higher. Is there a 1.12 link somewhere? Thanks!

Members area downloads. 3rd link is for 1.12

You might have to log in first to matrix games web site. I'm not sure since it automatically logged me in.

https://www.matrixgames.com/members/dow ... sp?gid=483

That should get you going.

Well, it only kinda worked. I was able to log in and download 1.12, but it says I need 1.09 first. However, there is no 1.09. What do I do???

Make sure that you are downloading the archive of the full game, not just an update. Install it, then run update.exe

Hi rogue

It sounds like your game is really outdated.
The easiest way to get it going again is probably to do a clean install with the latest version.
Download v.1.14 from matrix games, and then patch it to v.1.14.3.

That should work.
Don´t forget to reinstall the image packs for the two DB´s.

Hope this helped.

Thank you for the help Soren! I got a steam code and downloaded the game. It looks like there has been a lot of changes! I was wondering, what DB's are you talking about?

Hi Rogue

Good to hear that you got the game working again.
I was referring to the image packs to the two DB´s so that you can see pictures of the units when you are browsing the DB and when you select a unit in game.

You don´t need them for the game to work, but most users (me included) have them, and it is a common question after a reinstall that all DB pictures are gone.
You can find them here:

Hope this helped and welcome back to command

Steam is the easiest way to keep the game up to date, and the easiest way to install the Community Scenario Pack and other scenarios people have created, but the Steamworks SDK included in the Steam version of the game (required for DRM, workshop integration, etc) can introduce some problems if some things aren't disabled in the Steam configuration.

So check out the Workarounds section here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 1374061499 so you know about stuff like disabling the Steam "In-Game Overlay".

There's also a section on how to install the additional database images that Schr75 was referring to.
