Axis AI

Post by Trump2016 »

just trying out playing as Allied and noticed a couple things.

Lithuania, if the Soviets choose not to occupy the Baltic states, when Germany attacks Russia, the Axis only declare on Latvia and not Lithuania if neutral, this has happened in every game I have played. This impedes there advance.

Italian Fleet, in every game I have played if the Axis get Spain, the Italian has never attempted to send ships through Gibraltar? This allows the Allies to concentrate everything against the German fleet and Subs in the Atlantic.

Thanks and I'll look into correcting this.

One other thing is the German navy, especially its DD units.

1. The DD units will sometimes all leave the Baltic even though the Soviet sub is still around (easy time to feed off the Swedish ore)
2. When they leave the Baltic, they sometimes will act alone (not part of a task force), one even did a kamikaze attack on Scapa?, I have a also found them wondering aimlessly around Ireland. Seems like a real waste of effort.

On a positive note, I find the AI does a pretty good job using its Subs, it keeps the Allied player hoping (and spending lots on tech) until 1943

I myself have found the AI interesting to play against (particularly in helping me develop my PBEM Axis game) when following a more or less historical prosecution of the conflict.
