Red and Purple Hatched Hexes

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Red and Purple Hatched Hexes

Post by ikrananka »

When hexes have red or purple hatched lines through them, what does this mean? I can't seem to find an explanation in the manual.

Hello - This was added for v1.10:

- Air units will no longer receive supply from an HQ unless they are attached.
- under supplied Air units, due to not being attached to an HQ, will be indicated by a red hatch beneath the applicable Air unit.
- under supplied Air units, attached to an HQ but not to the most optimal supply giving HQ, will be indicated by a purple hatch beneath the applicable Air unit.

Great - thanks for the info.

BTW the purple hatching can be misleading, as it sometimes seems to consider allies HQs (e.g. Italy's, for German units) as possible supply HQs. Or at least it used to, not sure if this has changed in 1.11

Hi OxfordGuy3,

This really shouldn't be the case as it only highlights a purple cross hatch hex if there is a mismatch between the unit's current supply level and what will be shown on the map when you use the 'S' supply view hotkey. Of course the purple hatch only shows for those units that are 'attached' to an HQ but not an optimal HQ as it would have a higher supply value if it was as indicated by the 'S' supply view hotkey.
