Strategic Command v1.12.01 beta Available

Hello Everyone
An updated version of v1.12.0 is now available for Strategic Command. This is v1.12.01 beta

All being well we plan on making this an official update shortly

This is a comprehensive update

Save games from 1.04 onwards should be compatible with this beta (although campaign changes won't take effect until you start a new one).

If you are playing a PBEM game we recommend you finish before updating, and for new PBEM games if you have updated then your opponent will need to do so as well.

For the Matrix version - Strategic Command v1.12.01 is available from here :

Steam
If you would like to try the patch you will need to access the beta branch
To do this -
* Find the game in your steam library
* Right click on it and select properties
* Go to the betas tab
* From the drop down select the "beta - openbeta" option
* An update (BuildID: 2583484) will queue and once ready you can run the beta

To return to your normal version
* Repeat the process but select the "Opt out of Betas" option on the drop down menu

v1.12.01 BETA

- fixed an additional port control bug where there are multiple ports adjacent to a town/city and one port could switch over to the same control of the town/city but wasn't at the end of a turn.
- fixed a rare CTD when moving or attempting to move units at the very top of the screen and under the strategic menu buttons located in the top middle of the screen.
- fixed a sub diving display error that showed the new location of the sub prior to it diving when playing against the AI and during the AI turn.
- fixed an AI Transport unit error that had the AI unloading Transports from Ports at strength < 5.
- HQ air unit attachments optimized for the newer HQ attachment and supply rule changes introduced in v1.10 when using the 'Auto' and 'Auto-Assist' attachment setting.
- custom sounds and music will now be checked first for SPLASH message screens in game.
- added a REFRESH button to the PBEM++ Lobby screen and removed the automatic refresh that was activated every 30 seconds.

CAMPAIGNS


- English and French language 1939 and 1940 campaigns corrected to ensure that the Half Strength Fighter arriving in the UK's Production Queue in August 1940 arrives with no research.
- Country ID corrected to Greece in the STRENGTH scripts #NAME= Greek Morale Is Boosted By The Presence Of British Troops In Greece, #NAME= Greek Morale Is Boosted By The Presence Of British Or US Troops In Greece
- In the Mobilization_1 scripts entitled #NAME= Axis DoW on Yugoslavia (Greece->Allies), #CONDITION= 120 [0] [1] changed to #CONDITION= 120 [1] [1].
- Condition Positions corrected for Axis Minors in the DECISION event #NAME= DE 623 - Germany: Continue through the Gibraltar Strait? (From West to East).

Download didn't work

I downloaded 1.12.01 and installed it.

I received PBEM error need version 1.10.03 and game wouldn't go into PBEM

This should be working now, but I'm assuming the download did work then? Just that you couldn't play/connect to the PBEM++ server?

Yes downloaded & installed fine on first try (see below on new version)

Error message when I launched game and tried to get in game

Refresh is a great improvement thanks

Matrix download says global version is that correct?

Downloaded the new version at it gave me a series of error messages when I installed (downloaded fine)and when I get in PBEM all games are gone

error msg was the following file is use and can't be installed sc...\autoplay\audio\click1.ogg

and then three more I didn't write down autorun I think

The game was up so I got in PBEM and all my games are gone

I closed SC and re installed and it went thru without error but all my games are still gone in PBEM

I re loaded original 1.12.00 and PBEM games were there

Thar seems very odd, "Matrix download says global version is that correct?"
It does not sound like it - did you download the beta from the public or members area?
I've just retested and it worked ok for me (no errors)

I'm wondering if perhaps you had a faulty download.

With regard to pbem, ne thing to bear in mind is that v1.12.01 being a beta will use the beta pbem server and not the release server

This is why your pbem games will be missing as v1.12.0 is a release version and so uses the release server

Hi

The above "global conflict" is from your post. When I think global conflct I think of the old global SC game.

I used the public area when my 2nd problems occurred. When I installed a second time my 2nd attempt install was ok. I didn't know PBEM games wouldn't be there me bad.

Question:

Will this update now look for/at the campaign 'Media' folder first (over the base Media folder)?
Or if we want to install replacement pictures do we have to do the a) rename the pictures, b) edit the scripts with the new names and then c) recompile the scripts procedure?

Ooops, sorry that was my bad, a rather odd copy and paste error. Now corrected original post - thanks for pointing out and I'm glad to hear the 2nd install worked fine for you

So, is this BETA already an official version (after almost a month :) ) and pushed via Steam?

For some reason they Locked the thread for v1.13, so I post this here. I'm going thru all the changes for 1.13 and double checked this one, in the 1939 Campaign:

The Red highlighted one still shows Country ID = 112, when I think it is supposed to be 46 ?

Ah, I had corrected the first one but you are right, there is a second one that still shows 112. I'll correct it for next time.

Good news is that the Allies will still benefit from it, but it'll be the British rather than the Greeks that benefit!
