Smolensk Slugfest

Post by blackcloud6 »

I'm ten turns into the Smolensk 41 scenario as the Germans and this feels like a WWI slugfest than a WWII battle of operational maneuver. Right from the first turn the Soviets (computer) counterattacked with a large number of forces and this just keeps on happening. My offensive is stalled at Vitebsk. Is this a result of an old scenario begin played with the new TOAW IV AI or what?

The PO HAS received some attention I know. Sounds like a worthy opponent. Good hunting.
Does the CIA still do wet work, from time to time, depending on the National Security threat say......?

Take a look at Road to Moscow II. Smolensk 1944, designed using TOAW IV...(note this is an update of the scenario included in the game and needs to be downloaded into the Scenario folder.)

Thanks. I take it the Road to Moscow II Smolensk Folder goes in the main program graphics folder?

Thanks. In the original zip file was a folder along with the scenario files. That is what I was wondering about.

Blackcloud6 (a callsign?),
The other files are should already be in TOAW IV. Cut and Paste the updated .sce file into East Front folder. Note the historic operations are in the Documentation.

Thanks much.

I was the Army Liaison Officer to the 107th Fighter Squadron in the mid 1990s. My call sign was Blackcloud because every time I flew back seat in the F-16D it rained.
