I wonder where they get ammo for these relics?

For some, they made LOTS and LOTS of rounds - but I wouldn't trust a 70 year old round.

For others they made new rounds into the 1970s or later, but they might be sketchy too. (In both cases I imagine the chemical properties change over time - both the propellant and the bursting charge).

BUT you don't need that good an industrial base to make artillery rounds. Some exotic ones yes, but we're talking technology that has been around for a LONG time.

Hi all,

We still have 203 mm heavy howitzers (they are mothballed now - but kept 100% functional - a buddy of mine spend the 1990's war with them)...

Back in the early 90s, I was working for the British Ministry of Defence establishment.

We did some work for either Pakistan or India (can't remember which now), we were proof firing rounds there for the British 25 Pdr guns from WW2.

They JUST asked one of the arms manufactures in the UK to make them.

We had weapons there from WW1 to future weapons.

I remember doing one job with a WW1 gun, for an overseas country.

Plus a working gun captured from the Boxer rebellion in China, which was fired on special occasions.
