China Scenarios

Post by SullyRob »

Hello,

This is just a question out of general curiousity. I noticed in the Order of battle files for The Rising Sun portion of the game included units from Nationalist China and Communist China, but I can't seem to find any scenarios listed that are based on confrontations between Imperial Japan and The Nationalist/Communist Chinese Forces in the Chinese theater. Did my game not download a scenario by mistake or was this how the game was intentionally designed? I was just curious cause they seem like they would have been a good source for a number of scenarios. Thank you for your time guys

Hello SullyRob, welcome to the John Tillers Campaign Series forum!

Actually off the cuff there are a couple of scenarios involving Nationalist China:

Hukawng Valley Charge (1/11/44)

The Road to Nanking (11/28/37)

If you are interested in a scenario with Thailand then try Yang Dang Khum (1/16/41) which involves an engagement
with the French. I played this one many years ago and had a lot of fun with it as I remember.

Hope this helps!

Hello. Thank you. I found the Hukawng Valley charge scenario, but I can't find Road to Nanking. I couldn't find road to Nanking on the blitz website you linked to. Also a few of the blitz scenarios have now downlad option listed for them for some reason.

By that I mean Road to Nanking isn't listed in my game's scenario list or on the blitz website.

Thank you. I installed the Road to Nanking Scenario you posted and it seems to be working just fine. Do you know if you could find somebody to post a download for Dragons in Toungoo too? Also Jason Petho Do you have any general idea on a release date for Pacific Front or East front III?

East Front III is planned to release next year (this year we're releasing Vietnam)

West Front II the year after

Pacific Front the year after that.

That's the loosely based current schedule.

SullyRob,

I don't have Dragons of Toungoo in either JTCS 2.02 or 1.04. I see a listing for it at the blitz but no download available. I might have it on my old Vista machine
upstairs which I'll check. You can also try sending a message to the designer Jeepster777 he may still have it.

I'll put a notice up at the blitz to see if anyone has it by chance.

SullyRob,

Over at the Blitz there is a forum topic about Dragons of Toungoo. Oddly enough it is now called "Duel of the Giants for Toungoo".

Apparently the original scenario was tested, tweaked and then renamed to its new title.

"Duel of the Giants for Toungoo can be downloaded over at the blitz.
