Europe aflames crashes

Post by Waltz »

I am trying to do the third turn in my PBEM game and I have had about 6 crashes so far, there is no real consistence beyond opening a sub window, so I will try and open the air command window of the formation window and sometimes it just crashes.

any logs from your AV (anti virus) or firewall / spyware protection etc, to to see if any of these have stopped or interfered with it?

Had a look through them, nothing there I haven't had any problems with other scenarios (well FITE2 used to crash once in a while but after the last patch that stopped)

I'm wondering if it's the same window each time or if it's any window that crashes.

Yes, memory can be an issue and sometimes the processor. Depending on the age of the computer. This is a monster scenario....GP

What operating system are you running? There are some operating
systems that won't support TOAW IV. I think Windows ME is one of them.

Windows 7...I have been playing TOAW4 since release I have never had this much trouble with any scenario before. I had the odd crash with FITE before the patch otherwise I can leave it open running a scenario for a couple of days without any issue

Maybe the file I sent you is corrupted if everything else works fine ? I could redo my turn and resend ? Didn't do anything major in that turn just moved stuff around

The battle of Medjerda is almost forgotten, but was fought against highly disciplined German troops and blasted a route straight to Tunis it was a perfect infiltration battle and should be remembered as the best fought British battle of the war.

I'm running WIN7 too and I'm not having any problems to speak of. I don't
remember when I last had some trouble. I'm sorry, I don't mean to rub it in
but I'm just saying that it's probably not something to do with your operating
system.

We have to knock all these issues off thats why I think it's something top do with the scenario

Turn 4, my opponent re did turn 3 and it worked a lot better after that.

I suspect there may be a link between saving and crashing, I normally save regularly as I am doing my turn and I noticed if after saving I completely quit out the game and then start it up and reload the turn I dont appear to have crashes, it's something I suspected when I had issues with FITE in the past and it felt like it made a difference this time
