I got to land on Iwo Jima while in the Marine Corps in the 80's!!

My division was the 3rd Marines, in Iwo Jima we were the mobile reserve. I forget what year we did it, but we were to make a celebratory landing for an anniversary of the landing, we finally got to land all those years later! I took some pictures, although they are 30+ years old, can still make out Suribachi! We were only allowed to advance in to the second Berm line, IIRC, lots of Japanese and American journalists were there as well. A small group of officers were allowed to go to the summit of Suribachi to the site of the flag raisings.
