I have to admit, that while the usefulness of the Yamato is debatable, there is absolutely nothing more pleasing than getting her into a fight (big IF), getting her to hit something (another big IF) and see the other ship go down (not that big of an IF).

I believe you can make it happen :D

She is on her way...and picking up escorts as she goes.

I changed her commander, too.

Those 46 cm shells are ... impressive. [8D] But as Mahrgell noted, you have to get through a lot of ifs firsts. May the luck finally shine on the IJN!

Trade one for one in fighter sweeps, Allies move ships outside of strike package, an Allied sub blunders into a mine, and I am hunting for AV troops anywhere I can find them...just don't have any. Stretched so thin everywhere.

I am still astounded that the Allies can put so many troops, ships, and equipment together for this level of counteroffensive operations in August 1942. [X(]

Curious, do 'we' get notifications on VP loss for garrison requirements of Allied bases?

He must be stripping all units possible to maintain this level of attack. Didn't we see a Dutch ground unit used to beed up an invasion in IndoChina? Soerabaja Bandoeng and Batavia have garrison requirements (approx. 120AV total).

How would you know if those bases are basically empty?

I guess the game would eventually gives this info to the Allies on Japanese bases, but is there any such intel reported back to Japan if the Allies ignore garrison requirements?

I think Allied players are, on average, far too risk-adverse at the beginning. They get slaughtered for sure with a competent Jap on the other side and no Russians involved, still they can do a lot of damage eventually easing things later.

Or avoiding conquests much larger than the historical perimeter.

Much of the stuff allied player throws in this game are basically units that get destroyed in the very first months or are sent to garrison important bases in the rear.

Those unrestricted I mean

It has been pretty much a stalemate since I pushed back the last assault in the open.

I doubt it. The Allies have a ton on units since I have destroyed so very, very few of them.

ABDA force from Quinhon moves decisively towards Cam Ranh Bay, which has no hope of stopping an attack.

Lots of engineers at Quinhon...

The TF from Cam Ranh Bay reacted four times and simply returned back to Cam Ranh Bay despite having a different home base selected...maybe they can get away today.
