Question

Post by DOCUP »

I am trying to reinstall another AE folder. I keep getting a unable to find PW error. If I remember correctly its a pathway error. I went into the properties and made sure it was directed to the right file. That doesn't work. What am I missing?

Too vague.
Properties of what?
What did you have entered?
Where is the new folder set up? Drive/directory/subdirectories.
Screenshots would help us understand.

I take it that you don't have a disk. I have installed all 7 of my AE folders from disk. It's a little more work, but I never have a problem....GP

Yes, I asked for a replacement but they wouldn't do it.

RE: Question

Installing from disk or download makes entries in the Windows Registry which are often necessary for the system to access everything. I also do not see a map folder for your setup. I was wondering whether PW really meant Pathway (windows just calls it path as far as I know) or the PW Hex files that define the map.

So when you try to start the game, how far do you get before the error message?

You are missing a lot of essential files. Could you make a screenshot of the working AE folder?

I think ericv is right. I am missing some files.

BBfanboy: I don't even get to the loading screen. I get the error message right off the bat.

I have another folder of AE that works and I can use. Does anyone know how to get rid of the current beta patch and go back to only the last official patch?

Don't think you can. You can just run .exe in the main folder and not the one in the Beta2 folder but that will not remove any changes to other files that may have occured.

So you have a folder on your HD that is something like c:\WarinThePacic - right? I just copy that to my HD. I'll get c:\WarinThePacific - Copy.

Go to your shortcut that works and make a copy of that. Then change the path to the new folder. Make sense?
