Made the Purchase

Post by Yogi the Great »

So I decided to use my anniversary coupon to buy the Tigers on the Hunt Normandy and FOGII Legions Triumphant DLC's.

If you look for either right now in the store you won't find them but you can find them if you go to products.

This has often happened with games in the past - I'm use to it so no problem, but I sometimes wonder if any sales are lost on a game because it doesn't get put in the "Store" I'm sure on a new release many just click on the new releases on the home page

Well Yogi, now that you have the 2nd DLC in your picnic basket what do you think of it? Have you noticed an improvement in the lag for the campaigns yet? I'm cautious about investing time
starting another campaign just to quit at the higher turn levels because it just became too slow. Once bitten, twice shy.[&:]

For UPDATE6 that I just stared working on, I will be looking into further improving performance of the game.

I played the "82nd at Amfreville" campaign up to turn 22, then ToTH had one of its very rare (for me) crashes. Of course, since such events are extremely rare, I never thought about saving and now I have to start back from the start .

@Peter: do you remember the auto-save feature we talked about some time ago? It would be a really, really nice additional feature for ToTH (and not only for debugging purposes [;)]).

The campaign game does not appear to slow down as the game progresses as we all saw in Kursk. On the other hand, the number of involved units appear to be smaller (When the game crashed, I had approximately a dozen US Airborne squads in play)

In the image below, part of this Airborne Alamo:

Only have had limited play so far, has been awhile since I have played so kind of re-learning it. Like so far but was a small scenario, no significant slow play. Glad to have western front as I tire of east front games.

I just finished playing the "82nd at Amfreville" CG using the Germans. I had not taken notes to make an AAR: watching/ "300" or "Aliens" could give you a good idea of this CG, however.

On a more serious note: this CG does have delays, it runs smooth from the first to the last turn. I do not know, however, if the improvements in the game engine also affect the Kursk scenarios: I will make a field test as soon as possible.
