universal carrier in short supply

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

universal carrier in short supply

Post by MrBlizzard »

playing battleground italy 43-45 beta 1.02.28

I'm always in short supply of universal carriers (HT MG category) in all british and commonwealth units like this in picture.

It seems it's produced just in 5 units /week; and in this scenery just 20% of production is available so it's one universal carrier a week.

I read universal carrier was the most produced AFV in history [X(] so it seems a bit strange this situation.
any thought?
Thanks

Hi all, this is another example , for 6th south african armor division only 4% of universal carriers available
other units situation is:
- 8th indian inf division only 11%
- 5th poland inf division only 16%
- 6th british armored div only 29%
- 2nd new zealand mixed inf div only 3%

Don't know if in grand campaigns there's the same problem;

How long have they been in the frontline? It's likely you have what you need in the pool. If you do, pull back the division to a #4 supply depot if you absolutely need those AFV.

Oh it would be nice but... the pool is completely empty!!! [:(]
british and commonwealth divisions change TOE in may 1944 adding 36 universal carriers previously not included in their TOE
So they find suddenly with an high request that will never be satisfied with a so scarce production (1 a week in this scenery).

Probably there could be and error in production level.

The other version of the carrier - the "bren mortar carrier" - starts the "battleground italy 43-45" scenery with a huge pool so an easy solution could be putting a biggest pool at start also for the mg carrier
Thanks
