Desert war or Piercing fortress Europe ?

Deciding by these two. Has anyone played both and can compare and give any recommendations ?

I do not own Piercing Fortress Europe (PFE), but have looked at it and it looks like a solid serious war game. I am only guessing but I have not seen any continued support for PFE, and I have not seen any announcement for future games or support. On the other hand, I consider Desert War 1940 1942 a great game, and a game that has developer support and future expansions are being discussed.

As said in the other thread, Desert War. It has an incredible editor plus the reasons stated by Okayrun above. DW you can play forever, PFE is pretty limited to a few battles. However, PFE requires little practice, but mastering DW's UI and play style is no mean thing. That could be half the fun though!
