Playtesting on revised version 4.2 (7/30/18) of Arctic Tsunami 2019
Version 4.2 uploaded 30 July 2018 in this post and also below in the thread. all previous versions removed...
on 7/30 adjustments to the WRA ranges
Almost a complete rework...
on 7/20 AlexGGGG found a major error which I corrected this morning and afternoon. Please see below for details...
I did some revisions on the Arctic Tsunami 2019 scenario with revisions/corrections (I hope) to the sub sensors/doctrine, Norwegian ADA and CAP have been adjusted and I brought all of the diversionary fields magazines up to be able to take (at least) air-to-air loadouts for the Tornadoes and USAF Eagles. So this should give the Norwegians better staying power. Also created a Russian ground forces no navigation zone in eastern Norway to stop the gamey tactic of moving the S-400 battery west to take out the Norwegian CAP. So if someone in interested in playtesting i would appreciate it.

Not yet, but there will be. I apparently missed it when you posted.
ADDED:
In scen description, Negations to reopen NAS Keflavik, should be negotiations?
ADDED MORE:
In NATO side mission QE CVBG ASW one of the aircraft, Whirlwind something, is Reserve loadout.

RE: Playtesting on revised version of Arctic Tsunami 2019
I have trouble with Queen Elizabeth.
Unlimited ammo is disabled in the scenario, and I have trouble reloading.
QE has Meteors, and F-35Bs are loaded with Meteors, but when I try to change loadouts, F-35B appears to be accepting AMRAAM-C-5, not Meteors? First thing I wanted to do is to reload all F-35s for CAP, but this seems impossible. Any ideas?

RE: Playtesting on revised version of Arctic Tsunami 2019
Let me take a look. As a rule I only use unlimited magazines when playing around with some type of sandbox scenario. Maybe I need to add loadouts.
Thanks for playtesting, as I am trying to clean up some of the original scenarios I did.

RE: Playtesting on revised version of Arctic Tsunami 2019
GREAT CALL! [&o]
So while I'm still learning this game (likely always will be learning it [:D]), I really was learning on this my first big scenario. I didn't load out the QEII magazines with the right loadouts. Corrected them and have one F-35 squadron loaded out and set for an AAW mission and the other for an ASuW mission (more on call).

RE: Playtesting on revised version of Arctic Tsunami 2019
This still has NATO side, Whirlwind #5 aircraft in Reserve loadout which seems incorrect.
RE: Playtesting on revised version of Arctic Tsunami 2019
Something is wrong. I downloaded what is supposed to be the updated file, but it still has the same problem. Would you please double check the correct file was uploaded? Or is it something on my end, like maybe databases out of sync? However I seem to be running the latest version of Command.

RE: Playtesting on revised version of Arctic Tsunami 2019
So been tweaking the most recent version a bit. I don't know how but the subs now have active orders and the EMCON was screwed up. I've changed that and tweaked the missions a bit.

RE: Playtesting on revised version of Arctic Tsunami 2019
Version 3.1 7/20/2018 14:59 EDT
Corrected...
1. vessel Name to Volgograd
2. All units assigned a mission at start even under human (veteran players who don't like the assignments can adjust them to their liking or eliminate and start over).
3. Added more loadouts to Varnes AFB, Norway
4. Corrected EMCOM so that Radars, Aircraft and Surface Vessels are using Radar and OECM but submarines are not.
5. Eliminated the base with C-17s.

RE: Playtesting on revised version of Arctic Tsunami 2019
Have a look at these, units
Russian Fencer D #837,#843, and other near NATO AN/FP-110 radar.
Something fishy is going on. It is their second strike mission, so they come, first come Foxgloves which I generally took care of by the second wave, then come Fencer-Ds escorted by Foxhounds and Fencer-E jammers. However, Fencer-Ds will circle the radar (and previous time they did circle the same radar only I had no assets available to go after them), they will circle and circle and circle and will not fire. Eventually they run out of fuel and go back.
On their first strike mission, they were more agressive, sent some missiles my way, but still mostly congregated around the same radar, never attacking it.

RE: Playtesting on revised version of Arctic Tsunami 2019
Actually I figured that one out last night looking at the Shift+F1 attack dialogue. The cloud deck was too low for the ordinance. I raised the deck to 16 KFT and they attack now.
Want to have some fun? Play as the Russians and use the P-800 Oynx missiles from the Admiral Nakhimov on the radar sites. Fire the missiles one at a time, as two is usually a waste of a missile! Hope they are not as effective in real life as in the simulation!!!!

RE: Playtesting on revised version of Arctic Tsunami 2019
Sorry Dude, that has to wait. I'm currently playing version 3.0 NATO at a rate of about 12 hours of conflict per real-time day. So if I can play Russians, that would be about a week from now.

Yeah it's a bit big [X(]! I admit, I got carried away [:D], but there are larger scenarios [X(]!

8 Hours in playing as the Russians and I've cleared the Nord Capp of Radars, sunk the PCs and severely damaged the Airbases. Conversely the SU-27 squadron is toast!

RE: Playtesting on revised version of Arctic Tsunami 2019
Well, another thing - set SAM auto fire ranges to no-escape zone, basically about 3/4 of max range. Exception are short-range point defense SAMs with ranges like 5..10NM.
And also for Russian super hyper extra long range AAM, what is it, Adder? or Arrow?, set auto fire range at about 20 NM above that of longest-range NATO missile (which computes to 90 NM using AMRAAM-D as the benchmark).
Otherwise, NATO player can bleed Russian SAMs and to a large extent AAMs by entering the coverage zone, waiting for Russians to launch, turning back and exiting the coverage; wait for missiles to expire and then repeat until enemy is out of missiles. For land-based SAM (what is it, Growler?) one does not even need afterburners. This thing will engage at what looks like just above 200 NM, giving me plenty of time to turn back and get out of range.
