s_CC-12 – Taking Ptaki -> Looking for Feedback

Post by DoubleDeuce »

I am considering going back through some of my work and adding things made possible by the inclusion of new features, such as the map text, and so on however, since I have been away from TotH for awhile I will need time to get back into how the game plays, etc and may not be able to immediately recognize things being out of balance.

Based on that, I am looking for comments or suggestions from anyone who has played the s_CC-12 – Taking Ptaki scenario so I can start reworking/tweaking it for re-release.

I do not remember if the scenario had any peculiar issues: I opened it (without playing) tonight and looks quite balanced to me. Tomorrow I'm going to play it and report.

I just finished playing the scenario with both sides, at Very Hard (what else [:D]) Difficulty:

- as the Germans, I had no problem in wiping out the Russians and taking all the objectives by the end of the game.
- as the Russians, I was slaughtered to the last man by the AI, but the AI Germans only managed to take 4 VP hexes (I had 5, so I got a Major Victory [:D]).

As regards to possible improvements:
- I think the Russian AI can use some extra anti-tank capability, as AT rifles are essentially useless against StuGs, and the AI will never attempt to move so as to take side/rear shots (which have a very little chance of success anyway). Adding a 45mm AT gun or a couple Molotov projectors should make the German player more careful.

I'll look at adding the Molotovs since based on my initial research, the Russians had no AT assets in the area.
