strat recon sqn with no replacements

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

strat recon sqn with no replacements

Post by MrBlizzard »

Hi, playing battleground Italy, last beta 1.02.28, turn 86

In this scenery Allies have 2 squadrons for strategic recon using F9 fortresses (B17 modified for recon version);
from the middle of 1944 the F9 fortress is no more produced;
the problem is that those sqns can't upgrade to anything else and so they soon or later become empty.
Now I tend not to use them too much because they just have 3 or 4 planes left (see pic).

I read on internet that they later moved to the B-25 recon planes (not implemented in game):
16th_Electronic_Warfare_Squadron

Should they be allowed to upgrade to some other planes?

thanks

in recent iterations the unit has been removed as it was an Electronics warfare unit (we don't model this ingame).
B-25 use was after transfer to USA
WitE dev team - (aircraft data)
WitE 1.08+ dev team (data/scenario maintainer)
WitW dev team (aircraft data, partial data/scenario maintainer)
WitE2 dev team (aircraft data)
