Just trying to verify some combat results. Not because I don't trust them... just to see what changes have the most effect to improve my results.

But somehow I feel the manual is showing wrong formulas.

First you have to calculate the combat multiplier... ok, easy: readiness/100

A is attacker, D is defender, CM is combat multiplier, AV and DV are attack/defense value, XP is experience, DE is entrenchment and T is terrain.

So defender losses is =

ACM * (AV + AXP/3) - DCM * (DXP/3 + DE + T)

let's put in some values here 0,7 and 1 for the ACM/DCM, 8 attack, 1 XP for defender, no entrenchment or terrain bonus.

0,7 * (8 + 0/3) - 1 * (1/3 + 0 + 0)
= 0,7*8 - *0,33 = 5,27 --> 5

Somehow I have the feeling that the /3 should be for both values... (attack value + experience)/3
In that case it would be 0,7*8/3 - 1*0,33 = 1,53 (rounded up? down?)

For the attacker the values would be even stranger since there is a * attacker XP in the second term. So if you would use a unit with no xp that would be always 0. I guess the default value for experience is always 100% (=1) or it should be a + instead of *.

Same on the other side.
Can anyone veryfy this?

Hi LLv34Mika,

The formula as shown should be correct as it is only the experience value that is divided by 3, so there is no direct multiplication against experience as you were guessing above. If experience is 0, then the experience value / 3 would just be a 0.
