Stack selection doesn't work properly

Post by Shadrach »

When left-clicking on a stack and trying to choose individual units, it appears the selection is "offset" and I cannot click directly on the unit to select it. For instance I have to click on the second unit to select the first.

This appears to only be an issue if a stack is three units or less. For some reason, when adding more, things work again.

I suspect this is related to Windows DPI scaling?

I deal with stacks via the flyout panel versus trying to get a click on an exposed edge. There is also a hotkey that should rotate the units in the stack to the top. As for DPI, could be possible. What is your screen resolution? Font scale? Zoom setting in game? Thanks.

I am running at 2560x1440 on a 27" monitor. 150% DPI scaling set in Windows 10.
Application exe set to DPI mode of Override > Application. Because otherwise Windows will default to using Override > System, and this makes everything blurry because of scaling.

There are settings in the manifest you as developers can set to tell Windows if the application supports per-monitor DPI scaling or not. If you tell Windows it's supported, then it will not try to scale the application, but of course then it needs to actually support scaling of elements.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... on-windows

Here is an example of what I mean:
Image

If trying to select the E/1RHA, I have to actually click on the A/E/1RHA on the right. Same with the leftmost unit, I have to click on E/1RHA.

As you can see, there is an empty space on the right of the units, but and to select the right-most unit I have to click inside this space, and not on the unit.

With four units in the stack, there is no empty space, and the problem is not there.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown. I will make sure Rob sees this tomorrow after he recovers from the festivities of Canada Day. Which I can assume revolves around copious amounts of maple syrup and ice cream. [:D]

Did Rob recover from all that "maple syrup" (Canadian Club) yet? [:D]
