My current opponent is not very fond of the "forked tail devils." [:D] He reported never having this much trouble with them (Sept/Oct 42).
Getting the Chinese into action will at least put a drain on his overall supply situation.

The P-38 might be the most important reason this game is where it is now. I have one 33 kill pilot in August 42!! [X(]
The Chinese have done virtually nothing but fill out disabled devices for months, and some of the Corps are getting big now. I've also turned on a few for replacements and have a couple of 600+ AV units. I've just been moving them into a position to begin an attack once the supply in moving again. I think they can achieve a few minor victories at least in the short term.

I feel the most decisive single asset in this game so far for you has been the submarines i.e. the concentrated use you made of them in southern China Sea;
this killed and is killing Lowpe's freedom of action.
What I can't still grasp and Lowpe hasn't answered yet, is how his dedicated air units + ASW vessels have not dented sensibly your SS fleet used in such a concentration over long time in restricted waters;
the only clue is what you wrote between the lines some time ago that you had about a dozen of damaged SSs in Singapore.
Not surprised - it seems a bit early in the game for the Japanese to be getting good at ASW. They might be getting experience but their equipment still sucks.ORIGINAL: obvert

Having Singapore as a repair yard within 20-30 hexes of the main action most of the time has been extremely useful. He does damage and sink subs, but not at a rate I can't sustain. I've tried to not do anything too stupid, like sending them into mined ports, but I still do occasionally.
His ASW air has gotten hits but it mostly just finds and makes subs less dangerous as their DL is up.

On the 17th it becomes more clear why the KB has been hanging around Cam Ran Bay. A massive BB bombardment hits Allied troops there, and the subsequent attack fails. It's also clear that he's been flying in troops. A very defiant and risky move, I'm not sure he realises how much is on the way here. I see anything added here as an eventual bonus. It'll also take away from defending other critical spots as Allied troops fan out to cut lines to Thailand, Burma and China.
I'll bombard Saigon tomorrow to see what we're facing there.

Your Burma map looks almost like mine, I am on 3 August, 1942. I just landed at Akyab behind his leading units who were further south along the coast road in Burma. I too am attacking Lashio.
