I'm thinking the Sidi Bou Zid scenario (and the supporting "Americans" graphics files) should be included as a bonus package in the next Desert War patch. Just need to script the AI. Can do easy. Thanks for your support of this project.

This is a scenario now reaching ten years-ish(?) trying to find an opportunity to publish. It all started with a game/educational tool demo for the US Army ROTC leadership training program. Read about it here:

The demo was not accepted as an educational way forward. So the historical research and game development sat dormant--close to dead. Then Brian Kelly's Desert War came along. Sidi Bou Zid 1943 found a potential path to publication. Then it got scoped out with Desert War's time brackets of 1940-1942. So...lot's of years later, a couple of .csv file conversions, and a ton of Desert War adjustments, the Sidi Bou Zid scenario will soon be back in business.

Coming soon in a patch near you...

Brian and I tested the Matrix patch package last Monday and everything looked up to snuff. So I'll register my guess that it'll be out after all the pillows are fluffed-up and placed with a chocolate.

The work in progress picture above shows more terrain features, than I have seen in other pictures.

Are they part of the patch too ?

All terrain features used in the Sidi Bou Zid scenario come from Desert War...there is nothing new in the terrain department.

Purchased the game last night, now the learning curve starts ![:D]

One good feature, the printer friendly manual does what is says. Printer inks are a shocking price in the UK.

This scenario is now part of Desert War. It was published with the last game patch/update version 1.02. There are actually two versions of this scenario included with the game...the first is the Historical set-up and restrictions; the second is the same scenario with free set-up for both sides. The US player has a slightly better chance of victory in the Free set-up version.

So, if you don't have it--time to hit that update button.

Here's version 3 of the Sidi Bou Zid scenario. This version is the result of two play-balancing PBEM games played between myself and Okayrun3254. This version doubles the VPs awarded to both sides for possessing victory locations and reduces the number of turns from 15 to 12. It would be most valuable to get an assessment of play of this new version from a third party.
