RE: An Attempt to use MWiF to Simulated WW2 Reasonably Historically
This game has ended in a German victory. Due to political hatred between the communists and democratic nations, the political and military situation was drastically changed, when on the 1st of september 1945, in China the forces of Mao start attacking Nationalists units. The Soviets immediately declared themselves to be allied with the Chinese Peoples army. The US President was forced by the Senate to declare war on the USSR. In Germany, a coup by the Wehrmacht against the Nazi party succeeded and peace was reached with the Western Allies, after which the Wehrmacht joined the Allied forces in an attack on the USSR...
Some things which I noticed during this AAR are the following:
I've never seen an overrun happening, when there were situations in which you could have simply smashed a defending division or an out of supply unit by moving a big ARM/MECH stack over them...
And there's something else which I noted too. You don't seem to look carefully about the order in which you make the land attacks. This last turn f.e., you attacked Belgrade after you attacked a disorganised German elite INF. If you would have first attacked Belgrade, the German INF would have been out of supply, thus making a +10 attack on that unit a +21 instead. This is something which did happen a couple of times...

[:)] The war's still raging. The slogan for the Yanks is, "Home alive at the end of '45."ORIGINAL: Centuur

I just haven't highlighted them I guess. In reviewing my combat logs I found 5 overrun attacks that were made. I don't know what's typical for a game but I guess that sounds low.ORIGINAL: Centuur

Good eye. I do try to take advantage of attack order when I see things like that but in those cases where I didn't I just missed it. Thanks for pointing it out and I agree I need to take more time in looking for those opportunities.ORIGINAL: Centuur
