LCS(L) Class missions

Post by PizzaMan »

Is anyone else having a problem adding LCS(L)'s to Amphibious task forces? In my current game, they can be added to Transport and Escort missions, but these missions don't need 4.5in rockets.

Does the AE-editor allow the class to be modified to accept Ampib missions?

Don't have the game open right now but I believe there is a landing craft mission or something. Check it out....GP

I have never seen an LCS in this game. LCI is the one that comes in varieties for landing troops, and bombarding with rockets or guns. For most ships the (L) denotes "large" and in the British Commonwealth ships that can convert to attack transports "LCI(L)" if I recall. Rockets and Guns are shown by (R) or (G).

LCS(L)s start arriving in about October 1944. Their best use is to put them in landing craft TFs. They carry 120 4.5in rockets and will suppress shore battery fire.

I stand corrected! Thanks for filling me in!

There is indeed a glitch with this ship type. When it arrives and is alone in the port you cannot create either an Amphibious or Landing Craft TF type with it.

You can only create a Transport and one other type IIRRC. However, after creating a transport TF with it the game engine auto converts the TF to a Landing Craft TF.

There is definitely something wrong with the ship type.

This is it:

Landing Craft, Support (Large)

Is it's TF creation peculiarities because of it being a support ship?

In other words WAD?

I recall a thread with a developer (I think MichaelM) where it was noted that some ship types can join existing TF's of certain types which they cannot join in the initial creation of them.
