PBEM++ stopped working

Hi all. I ran into a weird problem.

I was playing some PBEM++ and my mate suggested a Germany Reforged scenario. I didn't own it but we thought I'd just try to join anyway.

Every attempt to join a HtH scenario (or other type like a N or a W) failed and I repeatedly got a message saying that the folder path was invalid and then I would get another message saying that I needed to download the GR dlc.
I don't own the GR dlc but I do own FPCRS and every attempt to join or host a game after that attempt to join a match of dlc that my mate owned but I didn't, I couldn't. I could play games with AI but any map PBEM++ with the original content was a failure with the messages.

I have images but I don't know how to upload them. I am currently attempting to reinstall the game.

Now that I can see your post. If you do not own GR and are trying to do a PBEM game with one of those scenarios it should not work and appears to be doing the right thing and saying you need GR to make this work. Not sure about your play versus AI comment. Are you saying you can play GR scenarios somehow against the AI?

So, the problem is with all the scenarios after the one attempt. I reinstalled the game and after some hand wringing I was able to PBEM++ again.

Just recently, my mate and I were about 5.5 game time hours into Hunting Bears and I inadvertently accepted a challenge from from another player who had posted a Germany Reforged match. The scenarios have the FC or GR indicator which I now know to look for.

Anyways, the issue has returned and I had to resign the Hunting Bears scenario with my mate because I kept getting an incorrect file path message. I have reinstalled the game again, and I am still unable to join a PBEM++ match with my mate.

What appears to be happening is after an attempt to join a GR PBEM++, my game thinks that every PBEM++ match requires the GR DLC, regardless of whether the scenario is from GR or FC. Even after the reinstalling the game, the issue persists.

Even after reinstalling the game, I still can't join my mate's match. However, if I host the match then both of us can join.

If you need any screen shots of the error messages for context, let me know. I don't know how to post the images here but I have them. Thank you very much for your fast and responsive reply. Love the game, by the way. I would love to see you guys do a squad based game. I loved Advanced Squad Leader board game as kid. Anyways, check you later!

I will let you know if we need screens. Thanks for the offer. As for an ASL game you should check out Tigers on the Hunt from Matrix and see if that works for you. We have plans to expand our game style to WW2 down the road after we get Southern Storm out and going.

Well that explains why you have not accepted my PBEM challenge. Hope you get this all sorted out.
