Does AI get extra units or MPP?

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Does AI get extra units or MPP?

Post by ThunderLizard11 »

Played as Axis and Soviets had a ton of units and attacked Germany in mid-'41. Now playing as Allies and Germans are overrunning Soviets in mid'41. What's the deal with the AI - does the AI get a ton of extra points - playing on default intermediate setting with no AI bonuses.

The AI gets extra units in general, and also gets scripted units if the other side hits certain objectives.

Hi ThunderLizard2,

MPPs are tied into mobilization, so if the Soviets have a higher mobilzation they will collect more income and as a result have more income to purchase more units. Based on your description, it is likely that your actions as the Axis caused a significant spike in Soviet mobilization and would account for them having more units than they typically would by mid 1941 and for the reason that they attacked you in mid 1941 as well.

While the AI will receive extra units, it is typically done in a tactical way to ensure optimal game play, i.e. if you have a quick advance as the Axis into the Soviet Union they will receive extra units based on triggers linked to your advances. These types of extra units would not have come into play in your first game as they would not have been triggered, rather it is likely based on what I described above.

Hope this helps,
Hubert
