Netplay broken again - apparent server problem

It looks like there must have been some technical change with the forum server that is resulting in an exception just after logging in to the server, so no Netplay games can get going

This is probably affecting everyone using Netplay.

I played for 4 hours using NetPlay today. We also restarted several times for various reasons.

The server seems okay. I just tried logging in again now.

What is the exception you are seeing?

Just tried it again, moments ago. On Sunday, after trying to Restore a Netplay session, there was an Exception. File attached.

Both myself and the other player had the same problem. We both tried the restore and tried just going directly to the Forum - same result.

This was running on 2.8.9.4. It did not happen in previous weeks - though the game was on hold since June (which had no such problems).

I just tried it with the newest version 2.9.0.4, and it was not a problem with the login, so there must have been some change since that time that breaks the older version. I guess I can work around it this way, but had been waiting for there to be no show-stoppers before making that upgrade.
