I have been playing an opponent for the past few years in a DBB-C scenario (extended map and stacking limits) game of the grand campaign and, unfortunately, he has decided to throw in the towel which I do not blame him for. Because of this, I and my Allied partner are looking for a new, worthy IJN opponent to pickup the game and fight us. The date is currently October 4th, 1943.
While I have not seen the the Japanese side of the save and cannot give you a fully accurate depiction of it, I can speak roughly as to what happened.
Present Geographic Lines: The Japanese Empire still holds Burma and the Dutch East Indies, has conquered most of China, and controls the Philippines and the Central Pacific. However, Japanese bases have been cutoff or isolated in the South Pacific and Allied units are pushing into the southern DEI where Japanese garrisons appear to be lacking.

Regarding the present state of the IJN, a number of carriers, cruisers, and destroyers have been sunk, but the big guns of the IJN, the battleships, remain largely intact.
Intelligence Est of IJN Sunk Carriers:

The most recent events were a carrier clash between Ambon and Sorong in the Ceram Sea in 8/43 that saw a number of Japanese carriers sunk. More recently, Japanese counter-landing attempts in the Southern DEI against targets like Endeh failed with the loss of a number of transports and a division or even more in troops at sea.
