I am not sure if LRASM does have it either. But if that is real, my speculation is for terminal phrase guidance. It's impossible to stay silent within horizon range, and IR cannot guarantee to find the correct target by its own.ORIGINAL: Cheechako
Question - why does the LRASM have an active seeker?
All the reports I've read is that it has a passive RF seeker with an IIR. So it would essentially be emission silent.

Well it does have a datalink for mid course updates. That, plus passive RF, plus IIR should be enough to get it on target.ORIGINAL: Dysta

Right now if you use them against anything modern, they get lit up at 10nm once the active seeker turns on. E: compared to the NSM with just IIR, it often closes to under 2NM before detection, and at that point it's in terminal maneuver combined with OODA - very low chance of intercept.

The company added passive emitters and an electro-optic endgame sensor, and made structural changes necessary to launch the LRASM from the Mk 41.

According to Tyler Rogoway, the LRASM has an active radar seeker, but only uses it for initially locating ships / groups of ships. It then supposedly goes passive-only and uses passive RF + IR to home in on a specific impact point on a specific ship.
However, most other articles claim that the LRASM operates entirely passively. The closest thing I can find to an official document supporting the notion that the LRASM has an active radar is a Lockheed brochure where it says "LRASM will also employ active and passive survivability features to penetrate advanced integrated air defense systems."
https://www.lockheedmartin.com/content/ ... asm-pc.pdf
I'm not sure that active in that context means an active emitter though; it could potentially be referring to active / proactive avoidance of pop-up threats (manoeuvring around them).

Echo I and Echo II class submarines can launch missiles when submerged in cwdb and db300.
For what i know its not possible because echo class submarines where famous for launching missiles whan surfaced. Charlie I class where designed to launch missiles submerged. After a little trial with all databases i noticed that all the submarines designed to launch cruise missiles surfaced can launch cruise missiles submerged.

Marine Protector-class patrol boat and Sea PROTECTOR MK50
At least some of the Marine Protector-class patrol boat has Sea PROTECTOR MK50 mounted. Photos show the mount on the USCGC_Sea_Devil_(WPB-87368). The database says that Marine Protector-class patrol boat has 2 x M2 .50cal. Sea PROTECTOR MK50 mount has a gyro-stabilized mount with built in EO sensor. Supposedly Sea PROTECTOR MK50 is mounted on US Navy ships also but I am unable to confirm which ships.

Minor correction. The F 812 Jacob van Heemskerck frigate (and it's Chilean version, FFG 14 Almirante Latorre) should have a 16 round magazine for Sea Sparrow rather than the 8 round magazine it currently has.
RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues
Could the USS Jimmy Carter please be given Docking Boats capabilities? (See the article below.) Also, could some additional UUVs be added? There doesn't seems to be very many options available. I realize that much of this is likely subjective because no hard data exists about some of these UUVs, but a revised generic platform could be helpful.

The two frigates were purchased from the United Kingdom in 2003 for £116 million, as part of NATO integration efforts. The agreement included the reactivation of the ships to operational condition and NATO standard, an initial modernization to meet the specific requirements of the Romanian Navy and a significant Operational Sea Training programme through the Royal Navy’s Flag Officer Sea Training organisation (FOST).
Under the Phase 1 modernisation, both frigates were equipped with an Oto Melara 76/62 Super Rapid gun fitted forward where the 4 x MM-38 Exocet had been mounted, two locally developed Agil 12.7 mm remote weapon stations, a new fire control system based on the AMS NAUTIS 3, a Series 2500 Naval electro-optical system by Ultra Electronics, the Terma DL-12T decoy system with 12 tubes, a new torpedo decoy system, the BAE Systems MPS2000 communications system, an Inmarsat B global maritime distress and safety system, the Sperry Marine Mark 39 ring laser gyro compass and the LMX 420 global positioning system. The flight deck was modified to be able to embark an IAR-330 Puma anti-submarine helicopter and a total of 18 Sting Ray Mod 1 light-weight torpedoes were also purchased.
The Phase 2 upgrade was initially scheduled for 2008 but has been continuously delayed due to lack of funding. With a total budget of RON839 million ($197 million), the international tender, published on March 2016, includes the supply and installation of a new Combat Management System, surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missiles, a close-in weapon system (CIWS), a 3D surveillance radar, an improved electronic warfare suite and a towed sonar. The potential contractors are Lockheed Martin Canada Inc, DCNS, Leonardo SpA and the STM / ASELSAN / HAVELSAN / CSR consortium.

On the Romanian Naval Puma, ASW torpedoes were added only from September 2015.

All versions of the SA-5c as of build 475 seem to have the Square Pair FCR set as an Air-to-Air radar. This doesn't seem to stop the battery working, but I think it should be changed to Surface-to-Air nevertheless.

I requested this to go into the change list a while back but I don't know if it actually got added to the list (the link in the OP is now defunct. Is there a new spreadsheet that we can log onto to see the change list?):
UK Type 45 class:
Please add davits for boat operations. The Type 45 class has 2 boat bays for 1 Pacific 24 RHIB each.
UK Type 23 class:
Please add davits for boat operations. The Type 23 class has 2 boat bays for 1 Pacific 24 RHIB each.
UK Queen Elizabeth class:
Please add davits for boat operations. The Queen Elizabeth class has 5 boat bays that allows for 2 Pacific 24 RHIBs and 3 Passenger Transfer Boats.
Also, please allow for the above 3 units, as well as the Albion class LPDs, to embark cargo. Part of the QE class's role is to enable helicopter assaults with her EMF. She can carry approximately a company's worth of Royal Marines in addition to her ship's company and embarked air assets.
UK Pacific 24 RHIB:
Length: 7.8 meters
Beam: 2.6 meters
Speed: 38 knots
Range: 150 nm at 30 knots
Crew: 2
Passengers: 6
Variants: Boarding operations (6 sailors / marines with kit, plus 1x GPMG mounted to the fore)
Search and Rescue: 2 passengers (1x medic, 1x sailor) and room for 2 - 3 stretchers
Routine / Ferry / Passenger Transfer: 6 passengers
Thank you.
