Misspelled Ship

Post by Rising-Sun »

Hello guys, I been going over the Japanese ships and writing stuffs down for reference and book keeping while playing. I just noticed one ship that is misspelled, Hatsuharu class destroyer ID 212 "Hatsushima" under 001: War in the Pacific: The Full Campaign. Note: that ship should have been "Hatsushimo".

Are you asking the tech gurus to change that in the Scenario 1 DB because mere mortals cannot do it? Matrix is not officially supporting the game any more and I doubt they would see this change as something worth doing because they would then have to push out another amendment to all users. I suppose Michael M could add it to the unofficial Beta, but that would also be a change all Beta users would have to agree on to play PBEM with each other.

You could post the correction in the Mods forum so that it can be incorporated there when mods are created or updated (mere mortals can do that!).

You can also change it yourself through the editor.

Yeah I could do that, but wasn't aware that they don't patch it or update it anymore. So this mostly fans doing all this now?

You can make the change but you cannot save it as scenario 001. The first 25 scenario slots are reserved for official scenarios and only the game's originators can make the game engine save there.

Yeah I figured. But if that just one ship misspelled there. Then not really worth messing around unless there are other things I wish to change. I haven't start the campaign yet, just writing stuffs down, etc.

Looking forward to mess with it again, should keep me busy all year long.

I've changed a few things in the editor for my game, one is replacing a ! with a 1 in one of the US units name. The biggest changes though was with US subs underway at the start of a GC. I noticed that the editor defined a specific CO for specific boats but when looked at in the game it was someone different. The defined CO was TF commander and there was a randomly assigned boat CO. What I did was go to the TF and change TF CO to random. That way the sub CO reverted to it's defined CO. I only changed the US subs underway at the start of a GC. Not all underway subs were like that, only a few, and they were all single ship Task Forces.
