Post Sealion AI

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Post Sealion AI

Post by dhucul2011 »

Has anyone else noticed that the UK-USA AI seems to be broken after a successful Sealion?

They throw a few units at Cornwall and Devon and South Wales which can be easily defeated by the Italians and some bombers. (The USSR AI continues to be quite strong)

Are there alternate scripts for invasions of Spain, Norway, Ireland or even a bypass direct to France?

By end of game in 1945 I see dozens of units in the USA and Canada (UK alternate capital) and 15000 US MPPs.

I don't know it that was the way they scripted it but it does sound realistic. I doubt that the US would have invaded Europe without the use of the "Unsinkable Aircraft Carrier". Not very exciting mind you but probably what would have happened.

Look at the scripts I bet there is a percentage involved in whether the AI goes isolationist or tries to take Britain back. Seems pretty near impossible without a nearby base of operations. Try switching sides to the Allies after a successful Sea Lion and see if you can pull it off.

I switched sides after I noticed the computer was broken after Sea Lion, and easily turned it around. The minute you go ahistorical, the computer handles the loss of England in a bad way.

I've just posted a mod for a post Sealion AI and I am looking for feedback on the results. Please take a look here if you are interested as all final adjustments will make their way into the official default campaign:

Unfortunately something is broken in this Sealion Mod.

In the beginning everything was alright, the USA Transporters well protected by the Pacific Fleet moving forward towards England, they landed in 2 groups in Cardiff and Fort William. But after that, the USA stopped sending more units, having 60+ Units waiting in the USA.

Thanks for the feedback and can you tell me what the situation ended up like in the UK after the amphibious transports landed? Were they overrun in the UK?

I throw back the invasion, destroyed the 9 units in Britain. he sent a small few more troop transporters towards Britain, they got damaged by submarines, so he unloaded them in iceland. After that no more transporters sent towards Britain.

I tried the post Sealion mod - I found the AI did a much better job protecting the first wave of transports. However, saw same issue as Schokolokos - tons of units sitting in the US and UK in mid='43. The AI needs to build far more ships and also be more careful with their carriers.
