Pleased with Field of Glory

Greetings to All,
Decided to try the Field of Glory series after seeing I would not be able to run Field of Glory 2 on my old laptop. I am very pleased with FOG as a simple ancients miniatures like game. The unit icons are not up to Tin Soldiers Alexander or Julius Caesar but still work well for the historical period for me. FOG is a nice alternative to HPS Ancient Wars (have all of that series) and Total War Alexander & Rome.

I like the decision to allow both original & unity versions to coexist. As an elderly gamer, I prefer the better color highlighted menus of original FOG compared to unity FOG with my eye sight.
I look forward to picking up the expansion packs for more content.

Picked up all the expansions w/2018 holiday sale. Like them very much.
I am using the Unity version FOG and see no problems.

I might try to use the non-Unity version based on forum comments to see if there is a difference.

I just tried the original (non-Unity) version on my Android tablet via Steam and it plays quite nicely.

It's a shame that the gentleman that was attempting to develop FOG Unity and bring it to mobile apparently was side tracked by real life.


Hopefully one day, he will return and make a native Android version. (notice I avoided the evil IOS acronym in Slither Land) [;)]
