Undo active at start of turn

Post by DonStone »

A save file is attached (w/ a ".txt" extension to allow it to be attached). End turn 2, watch the German turn, and wait for the start of the Soviet turn. The "Undo" button will be active. Hit it, and you end up in a weird state.

- the turn indicator changes from Soviet to German. If you right-click to see the turn record track, you see German statistics (e.g., the number of barrages available to the german).

- the "next unit" buttons cycle through the Germans

- I'm playing w/ hidden units. The Soviet units are still visible, and the Germans are not. So you are cycling through spaces that appear to have no units (e.g., hitting next unit a few times tells you where all the German supply trucks are, even though you can't see them)

definitely an odd one you've stumbled on. I've forwarded this on to SSG, thanks for the detailed description!

I've had this happen to me also.
But I was playing the Germans, undo was active when my turn started. When I clicked it it take me to a soviet unit, even allowing me to move that unit.

-Next Unit cycles through Soviet units.

-This continues until you unselect the soviet unit that is currently selected, at which point it takes you back to the German side.

Roger has located and corrected this bug, it will be in the first patch. For the moment, avoid the pressing the undo button if you see it active at the beginning of the turn.

Workaround:

If you have the UNDO button appear after the AI has resolved its turn, don't press it. Save the game under another name and exit KP.

Restart KP and load the new save game. You should be able to continue normally now. Well, it's working for me...

As far as I can tell, the workaround is simpler than that.

Just don't press that initial undo.

Go on and do your turn. All is well once you've made a move of your own (i.e., the "undo" action is replaced by one of your own actions).
