A Texan in the Australian Football grand final

Post by Neilster »

If anyone's interested, the Australian Football grand final is on in about 60 minutes. 6'11" Texan Mason Cox is playing in front of 100,000 crazy fans after completely dominating last week. He's a former college basketballer who had never heard of the sport until four years ago. It's a great story and he seems to be a really good bloke. The fans, and I mean from all teams, love him. This is from last week...

It's a fun spectacle, with unfortunately less violence than when I played; although there's still a reasonable amount of violence. If you can make any sense of this, you can watch it...probably on channel 937 Community Access...or something

in the US we use the word "contact" to describe the interaction I think it better fits both sports.

It was a good, close game but Mason Cox's team lost and he didn't play very well. Sport is a harsh mistress [:-]

A good close match. Second quarter was slow but a nail biter at the end.
