Russian human shields ... nice job Vlad.

https://nationalinterest.org/feature/ru ... rd%20Brief

"What’s more, the presence of Russian forces manning Syrian-owned air defenses would complicate Israeli attempts to strike at the Assad regime and Iranian forces operating inside Syria. Israel can ill afford to strike directly at Syrian targets during a raid if that would mean that Moscow’s forces were caught in the crossfire since the Kremlin will not likely let another such incident slide unpunished. As such, the presence of additional Russian forces would constrain Israel’s ability to act inside Syria."

"That is if Russia really turns over these systems to Syria in relevant quantities at all, and is willing to replace them repeatedly as Israeli warplanes knock them out. "

Assuming the photo ISNT fake...what does it suggest?

Well, that at some point in time, at some location, an F-22 was generally in the forward field of view of an SU-35. Wow. I’m sure the US Air Force is scrambling to find out how it was possible for someone to see an F-22

The naval bomber variant of the H-6K, the H-6KH is now apparently known as H-6J and ready for delivery to the PLANAF.

It is expected to replace the H-6G as the mainstay YJ-12 AShM carrier, carrying up to six YJ-12 supersonic AShMs as well as two ECM pods on a pair of additional outer-wing hard-points.

The new Z-10A unveiled, which was recently visited by none other but President Xi Jinping.

Image

Some new details unveiled:
The latest image (September 2018) suggested that an improved variant (Z-10A? S/N 9621xx) has entered the service with the Army. It features external armor plates outside the front and back cockpits as well as the engine compartment to provide a better protection. MAWS sensors were also installed on both sides of the nose. The gunner also wears the new HMD.

Also, it seems like this variant uses those new TianJian 90mm laser guided rockets, similiar in function as the US APKWS laser guided 70mm Hydra FFARs.

Not sure what to make of this article:

https://www.popularmechanics.com/milita ... -emmerich/

"Military Times reports filming starts next month at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, with additional filming taking place in Canada. The film will star actor Woody Harrelson as Admiral Chester Nimitz and is reportedly calling for military families living in the Pearl Harbor area to appear as extras. The film is set for a 2019 release."

There is a series of detailed articles "How the Fleet forgot to Fight" at

http://cimsec.org/

Looks like at least 3 articles.

Slicing a cake in 30 knots and barely touch each other is a very impressive manoeuvre, but who know what kind of accident could it be if they keep enemies too close.

Wish CMANO has ramming systems in it.

Sono-Flash: Thales New Dual Mode Passive Active Sonobuoy
Image
Thales is working on a new sonobuoy system, the Sono-Flash, that will combine both active and passive modes in a single buoy. This was unveiled to us during a trip to the Thales site of Brest (Brittany, Western France) ahead of the Euronaval show. Sonobuoys are typically deployed by maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) or maritime helicopters for anti-submarine warfare.

Euronaval 2018: MBDA's MMP Goes to Sea
Image
MBDA is working on a navalized variant of its new MMP Missile Moyenne Portée (Medium-Range Missile) fifth generation land combat missile system. This was unveiled to us during the Euronaval 2018 press trip.

Here is the First Image of the French Navy Next Generation SSBN - SNLE 3G
Image
Navy Recognition saw for the first time an image showing the future nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) of the French Navy (Marine Nationale). The programme called "SNLE 3G" (for 3rd generation SSBN) is set to replace the current fleet of SSBN (Triomphant-class) in about 15 years. We saw the image last week at a Naval Group site in Brest, as we were taking part in the Euronaval 2018 press trip.

French Navy Fitting Aster 30 Long Range SAM on its Last Two ASW FREMM Frigates
The French Navy (Marine Nationale) last two FREMM Frigates (in anti-submarine warfare variant) Bretagne (D655) and Normandie (D651) have been modified in order to be able to deploy MBDA's Aster 30 long range surface to air missiles. Earlier frigates of the class are limited to the shorter range Aster 15 missiles because of shorter VLS systems.
