Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

What I've figured out in the map editor so far:

1) I can pull up a blank map by using the Create New Battle function to make a test battle, so that I'm not messing with the existing battles/scenarios.

2) I can then select that battle from the main menu, and by choosing

a)Edit Map
b)Build Big Map
c)Do Super Tiles

...I can draw a new map- sort of. I've worked out this much: if you left click on a hex, and then left click on one of the terrain types in the lower screen pane, the hexes you clicked on will be converted to that type, whether you clicked on one hex or ten. However, not all terrain types are present on this screen. You're limited to clear, rough, desert, snow, and perhaps a couple of others. Anyone know how to work with the other terrain types?

You are jumping right into the deep end there :) Making a new battle is a whole heap harder then making a scenario based upon the existing battles (KP and TAO)..

But your best idea for Editor support is to post in the Scenario Editor forums at Wacht am Rhein. Chris Merchant and Roger have posted some notes there to help people out already..
Isn't that bizarre?
