Where are the units counter graphics located

VR designs has been reinforced with designer Cameron Harris and the result is a revolutionary new operational war game 'Barbarossa' that plays like none other. It blends an advanced counter pushing engine with deep narrative, people management and in-depth semi-randomized decision systems.

EDIT: It's only modifying the flags. We have to ask others here in the community about the excellent counter graphics mod.

This is not a mod. This is a vanilla counter.

Oops! Perhaps I got too distracted with DC:CP... got to look them up and use them for DC:CP, too.

Here is the issue in detail.

The counters with purple background are Italian divisions:

• 3. italienische Kavallerie-Division
• 9. italienische motorisierte Division
• 52. italienische motorisierte Division

but are presented with Wehrmacht soldiers.

That's unforgivable and unacceptable.
The relationship to Italian soldiers in WWII is for known reasons... "discussable".

I was in hope someone could correct this unpleasant omission by modding. But I can't find these counters in any directory.

Hi Templer,

I had a look myself and couldn't find them.

Vic might have to answer this one.

Cheers,
Cameron

All counter use the same gray vanilla counter and the coloring is done on the fly based on scenario-specific data, noteably in the 'people' data or in the 'historical units' data.

The sprite shown on top of the counter is defined in the 'sftype' data for the 'Italian Infantry'

Best wishes,
Vic

Thanks Vic! I found it and it seems GE-Infantry, not GE-InfantryIta was used (I changed it to the latter). Will check if it worked and will adjust it for the scenario, if Kamerad Templer wants it.

You should place your corrections in the mod forum.
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one interested in these fixes.

Something else have you changed / corrected / optimized?

And
I am still going through the Wiki for ATG and DC:CP as well as all of the videos the Crocodile Hunter (Cameron) and Vic did. I am also in touch with Daniele (he's more experienced than me on the DC:CP front). I am confident enough though to fix most bits and bobs. You're the GIMP nerd, that is good. I am inept (and impatient!) in fiddling around with graphics and creating maps. I am the analyst, troubleshooter, devil's advocate, researcher, QA... :D

I have been doing some "experiments" with the editor:

Image

I have changed the counter of the romanians becuase they have the same soldier that the hungarians

Image

I have done a little "frankestein" with the finish troops and now they have their own troops image.

Image

And I have put it in theirs counter, of course [:D]

But, anyway, I prefer the old editor from Case Blue than the one from Barbarossa.

Un saludo.

They look great! Bien, companero! I am still getting used to the DC:CP editor and working on an Excel sheet for the combat values. And... of course the CSIR. And myself...

I know DC:CP but I must say that I have never tested it. I have always preferred working with the "native" editors... but may be is time to take a look to CP.

Meanwhile I have been "sniffing" inside the guts of Barbarossa and I have seen that there are others "graphic issues":

The German and the Hungarian cavalry use the italian "siluet", and, althought the Hungarian cavalry has its own picture, the German one also uses the Italian one for this. The Hungarina infantry division, like the Italians, uses the German "siluet".

I changed this:

Image

And for the German cavalry, I tried to put the images from DC: Blitzkrieg, but the pictures in this one have a very poor resolution, so I made a new ones using the Italina graphics as base:

Image

And I also make new changes in the Finnish pictures (and I have also made a llitle one for the Finish Staff):

Bien, Companero!

See the other thread in the forum where I suggested to share Dropbox folders to dump all of our graphics, .libs, etc.

Oh, thanks.

I was searching by a specific post. Actually, I haven't looked for new scenarios yet... principally because I don't dominate the original ones [:D]

Buy I have only a few of little graphics modifications like the finnish troops... but if someone want them I can put them in Dropbox or something like that.

P.D: Now that I have entered in the link, I have seen that the user Khanti just make a "picture" for the Heavy German Troops... I was making one too:

Image

If I had known it, probably I had taken the "picture" of Kanti (I make this things with Pain.NET, and it is painful [:D] ).

Well, Here is a link with the few graphics changes that I made in DC: Barbarossa:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/2tduaxthd5agc ... s.rar?dl=0

How you can see they are only a few archives, but if someone want to use them in any scenario or want to modify them, go ahead.

Un saludo.
