Cannot change default directory in editor

My default directory used to be the Documents/My Games/TOAW folder. Without asking me, the patch changed it. I was able to change it back for the game, but not for the editor. Previously, the default folder for the game was also the default directory for the editor, but no longer. As a result, I have about ten mouseclicks every time I try to open a file in the editor. Why this change?

Deleting toaw.cfg fixed this temporarily. But then it reverted back. PITA!

In TOAWIII the scenario folder you have open in the game will be the same folder you will see when you go to open a folder in the editor. For example, if I have the Pre WWI folder open in the game and then I go to the editor the Pre WWI fold will be the one I see when I click Open Scenario. This has not changed for TOAWIV. If I have the Pre WWI folder open in the game and I go to the editor from there that is the folder that will be available when I click on Open Scenario. This has never changed.

What we need is to be able to open a scenario and the folder that scenario is in becomes the default folder in the editor. This does not happen now nor has it at least since TOAWIII. I really don't want to install COW to see if it was the same there.

Here is my problem:
When I open Steam and open TOAW4 and open NEW GAME, I get this ***Incomplete Scenario*** window:

When I click on the Folder button I can navigate to the Documents-->My Games--> TOAW4-->Scenarios, and open it to my Pre-Steam library.
But if I navigate to the Program--> etc.---> Scenarios menu and try to open a Steam scenario (ie- one included in the new patch) I again get back the ***Incomplete Scenario*** message.

Any ideas what is happening?

Yes, I did. Good call.

I made an update to one of my scenarios.

Any idea how to rectify that? I have tried to reload the last patch without success.

I can open the Steam scenarios (Program) in Editor (using the Documents folder TOAW4). Then I open the scenario I updated (it is "Valid"), but when I close it (into Program TOAW4)I get a "Write Error, Cannot write to file". [&:]
