Formation Reserve Status?

The manual mentions formations in reserve status. Does anybody know how to place a formation in reserve status?

I believe it can only be done by the scenario designer. It's a one time thing. Keeps players from moving units until they are released from reserve either by enemy action or by an event programmed in the Event engine.

Actually, there is no such thing as "Reserve" status if you look in the editor, it is a general term. According to Curtis Lemay (here: fb.asp?m=4546123):

"Reserve Orders are any orders that come with an activation turn (Static, Delay, Wait, Hold). They will be listed in the Formation Report as being "In reserve. Activates on turn XX". Those orders have a red band across their strength values. Unlike Garrison, they are also activated if any enemy unit moves adjacent to any unit in their formation.

Garrison is similar except they aren't activated by adjacent enemy units and don't have an activation turn. They are only activated by event, retreat, or reconstitution. "
