Has everyone moved on to a different game that scratches the DCCB itch?

The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

Has everyone moved on to a different game that scratches the DCCB itch?

Post by Xenomorph »

Forum seems pretty dead so I was wondering if there's a game out there that everyone's migrated to that captures a similar complexity level to DCCB. For me, Advanced Tactics is great but it's also aimed a lot more at dealing with logistics. Sometimes I want to just fight it out. TOAW - ugh, I can't stand the hexes through the middle of hexes. Bugs me, maybe more than it should. Those are the two main other games I know much about. I like the (relative) ease creating maps in DCCB, the complexity level and overall look and feel.

Thanks if you have suggestions!

I think most people 'moved' to the Decisive Campaigns Barbarossa page on the forum. Lots of activity over there.

You, and in particular the DC:CP thread there. It's getting busier there...

Assuming you mean rivers through the middle of hexes I know exactly how you feel. It ruins what might otherwise be quite a good game.

Wish more people played this game. It's one of the best wargames around - a wargamers wargame. All of Vic's games are excellent. DCCB deserves more attention. I hope to see an improvement on design and return back to WW2 after his next release.

Agree with that. case Blue is one of the great wargames. But I understand that there are some people that doesn't like the level of micromanagement in Case Blue.

Un saludo.
