New player in town !

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

A few words about myself:

I'm a newbie to this game, I've bought SC WWII WiE one week ago only, yet I've being playing wargames for 40 years now so I'm quite an "hardened" player.[8D]

I'm still reading and digesting the game manual, but I'm already able to put down a good fight.

Currently I've almost finished playing my first campaign: Barbarossa as the Soviet ( the others Allies countries are fully AI controlled) at the highest difficulty settings and I'm looking for an human opponent willing to teach me a lesson [:D]

I've got some experience in modding too, so when I will feel ready I will offer my help to some ongoing mod.

See you later

Welcome!
If you wish to learn the game fast, I suggest posting in the tournament thread and asking for an experienced opponent. A word of warning though, playing against the best players can seem overwhelming at first. People who know the game mechanics well can dismantle your forces very quickly, but watch carefully how they are doing it, as you can use the same tactics. Don't get frustrated, and soon it will be you who is doing the dismantling of newer players.
To get a leg up, try reading some of the after action reports to see what strategies people are using in PBEM, so you are not taken completely by surprise.
Good Luck!

Welcome 4mad3us,
I played a lot against the AI and learned many bad habits. I have had to unlearn those habits.
AI is great for ground game and for learning mechanics but you want to play people early so you don't have to unlearn. ELO tournament is always looking.

Thank you Markiss & nnason !

I've already found an opponent, a Swedish tiger actually [;)]

and indeed it is very interesting for me because I've got not experience in playing by PBEM.
He will surprise more then once for sure and as nnason put it, after playing so many years against AI in wargames I've already got a lot of bad habits to unlearn.

Anyway he kindly accepted a great defy by agreeing to play a difficult task for him: Axis in 1944 scenario...
Chapeau monsieur le suedois !

Best regards
