It still floors me that the Soviets have such huge forces available in the Far East at a time when historically they were in a desperate fight for survival against the Germans.

Yes it's a bit of science fiction. The Soviets barely had the logistical capability to sustain an attack in their own country. No way could they do that in Asia. And then there is the lend lease problem. 50% of Lend Lease went through the Pacific because Japan and the USSR were not at war. So all of the Lend Lease would now have to go through much more dangerous Murmansk and Arkhangelsk route. Or the very long Persian route (can you say bottle neck) at a time when the Germans were pushing towards the Caspian and the rail line that moved supplies from Persia. The Japanese subs would have had a field day against the Soviet Lend Lease cargo carriers that chanced the Pacific route.

The logic of any Japanese action against the Soviets would be utterly stupid and the ability of the Soviets to conduct an offensive deep into Japanese held lands would be foolish at best. I really don't understand the logic of even making a Japanese/Soviet war this early possible. It should just be made impossible until the historic date.

Well, it kind of was fun for a bit. Still is fun for the Allies.[;)]

There definitely is a sweet spot when Japan can attack the Soviets and do half decently.

Quite honestly your fighting spirit and good sportsmanship under severe duress has been an inspiration to all of us.

First week of October, 1942

Allies going all out with wide front offensive...

Here numerous PT boat skirmishes were fought in very bad weather. Ultimately, IJN sank 10+ for no loss except supplies.

Trying to whittle down Soviet tanks...the eastern front near Vlad opened up with Soviet bombardments all up and down it.

The supply drain is immense.

About 30 plane losses on each sides...but at least we destroyed a few P38s. Allied bombing is very heavy.

Japanese army is stretched so thin, about 10 bases have less than garrison requirements, and here a lone COY will try to hold off a Chinese Corp.

At this point shouldn't you have a big load of PPs?

That's why Obvert is pushing hard in China and Manchukuo to prevent you from reinforcing SC Sea from there?

But then you could opt for extracting Home Defense divisions?

I just bought out a restricted division from Honshu, and it will arrive in SR mode probably tomorrow at Fusan.

Of bought out divisions two have gone to China/Manchuko (plus the one arriving tomorrow which makes 3), 1 went to Luzon, 1 went to Sakhalin if I recall correctly.

I have a mess of artillery that is too expensive to buyout, and I think 2 more divisions to buy out from Honshu.

I need to check and see when the Soviets ship off 5-7 divisions to Moscow...surely it happens between now and December.

On this full front war, Japan cannot hope to create a reversal. Outnumbered everywhere...the IJN uses valuable supplies to attempt to stem the marauding 3rd Marine Division but despite the might Yamoto the bombardment is simply lackluster against the Allied forces in tough terrain.

Despite a sweeping destroyer squadron, the pesky small craft are still around...to engage the bombardment fleet...this time after the bombardment.

Air operations are from east to west across the map...a nasty Lightning sweep does damage at Bering Island in the far east, while some Zekes catch some Banshees in the far west. Plenty of action all over.
