Mogami (or is it Bullwinkle?) is in the room! (?)

Post by Canoerebel »

I'm not sure if Mogami is in the room, if he's in the room somehow tagging on Bullwinkle, or if Bullwinkle is suddenly confused about his identity.

If this somehow really is Mogami, wow! A legendary figure from the days of the "Beer Made Me Do It" AAR.

Welcome back Mogami, if it's you.

If it's Bullwinkle and he's in the midst of a crisis, perhaps he can seek out NYGiants for counseling.

Or perhaps this is related to the vote count in Florida, where an absentee ballot showed up in Wisconsin. I'm pretty sure Bullwinkle would be willing to cast a vote in the Sunshine State.

Hi, When Yahoo was hacked I lost my email. Then I could not recover my Matrix password. So I had to make a new account. Many old friends still here I see. "Beer made me do it" ack. I cannot find Pilsner Urquell anymore. They tore down my neighborhood bar after the owner died.

I'll probably leave out 50 worthy names, but when I blundered into Uncommon Valor back in late 2002, there were certain names involved (then or around then) that were kinda legendary. Some of them would go on to contribute to WitP and then to AE. Many of them faded away gradually, through the years. Mogami was one of the legends. So were folks like Raverdave, Treespider, and The Elf.

I suppose LargeSlowTarget is one of the longest-playing gents still around and who never left. Admiral Dadman is a real old timer. He faded away for years but then came back for years, though I haven't seen him recently.

Cickenboy and John III go way back and have always been steady in the Forum. Many others too, but I'm thinkin' off the top of my head here and have run out of inspiration.

Hi, Oleg was a monster. Dadman was real fun to play against. The out of game chatter still makes me laugh. Mike Solli is still here I see (he was the officer that swore me into the Guard) Lots of familiar names up in "THE THREAD"

And while I played many games I don't think I was all that impressive. I just tried silly ideas to see how far they would go and really never tried them because the opponents who had agreed to try them did not actually let me.
The Lunacy games were not about me being a lunatic they were about allied players who would agree to test weird ideas but then right off the bat prevent them. The one who did Nomad let me discover that actually Japan cannot launch a surprise attack against Soviets in WITP. Japan has to first active them which of course precludes any surprise. So the other Lunacy games were just me being suckered into normal games. Since in all of them other then turn 1 movement I did nothing shady. OK enough of that.

Fabertong, Apollo11, and USSAmerica are a couple more that come to mind. The latter two have remained active.

Fabertong showed up out of the blue about a year ago, picked up a game, but I think then disappeared, at least from visible Forum presence.

There's also a regular guy who's a real fount of information about the air war, but his screen name escapes me at the moment.

I will never forget Raverdave's nemesis Luskan (aka Banana Boy). Their interchanges on the forum were stuff legends were made of...
